In the summer of 2019 when I struggled to earn an internship but I was still determined to find a way to spend the summer learning something new and using my design skills. Leveraging my experience in child care, I knew there had to be a summer camp out there that taught kids design and I found one in Menlo Park, California. I spent 8 weeks leading 8 design sprints with kids ages 6 - 10, teaching them how to use miter saws, and power drills. Encouraging their creativity to build sculptures as tall as 12 feet. Below is a bit of the process following one of the projects.
STEP 1: Pick a topic
"Design a kitchen for a giant person."
